This Marble sculpture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York was sculpted by Andrea di Pietro di Marco Ferrucci (1465 – 1526) circa 1512-14 where it is on permanent display. Gaius Julius Caesar was a Roman general, statesman, Consul, and notable author of Latin prose. He played a critical role in the events that led to the demise of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire.
