Once the person becomes a seller on the Makers India marketplace, they can add unlimited products for free and we only charge a fee when a product is sold.

Transaction Fee

When you make a sale through makersindia.in, you will be charged a transaction fee of 5% of the price you display for each listing plus the amount you charge for delivery and gift wrapping. This 5% is the charge of the payment gateway service provider, which goes to them.

When the buyer makes a payment, a 2.5% charge is deducted, and when you request a withdrawal through PayPal there’s an additional transaction fee of 2.5%. So the total transaction fee is 5% for online sellers.

But there is an option to minimize this transaction charge on your dashboard. Every seller has to choose a withdrawal payment mode from their dashboard, which provides two options:

  • PayPal Withdrawal: 2.5% transaction charge
  • Direct Bank Transfer: 0% transaction charge

You can minimize the transaction charges by choosing Direct Bank Transfer on the withdrawal payment option. Then the total transaction charge deduction will be 2.5% only when the buyer pays an order.

Additional COD options

There is an option available to all our Sellers in case they want to offer Cash on Delivery to their customer, as this is an attractive way to attract more buyers.

As Makers India provides all the shipping and fulfillment to all our sellers, we also offer COD shipments with an additional charge of 3.5% of the order amount which is to be paid to the courier partners for the shipment.

Fee Avoidance

Any action by a seller to avoid paying a fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited by Makers India. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your Makers India shop through another venue. A transaction initiated on Makers India may not be completed off of Makers India. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not alter the item’s price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding Makers India transaction fees, misrepresent the item’s location, or use another user’s account without permission.

How we collect Fees

All the payments and transactions are to be made onsite by the seller and buyer. We collect all the payments and automatically deduct all charges including taxes and then the seller can request for withdrawal anytime after the return period is over. Makers India will automatically deduct all fees owed from your payment account. Provided you have sufficient funds in your payment account no further payment action is required. If your payment account does not contain sufficient funds you are responsible for paying any fees owed in full within 15 days of the date of your monthly statement, or the account will be considered past due, and Makers India may charge your card on file or take other actions to collect funds as laid out in the Recoupment section of Makers India’s Payments Policy. If you make a sale while you have an outstanding balance the net sale amount will be applied to your outstanding balance. You may pay your outstanding balance manually by credit card, debit card, or PayPal. Sellers may also enroll in AutoBilling, Makers India’s reverse withdrawal outstanding fee payment option.
